Fiction and Audiobooks

I have now returned from our trip to Europe and have settled on a new and what I believe will be an exciting addition to my Opera Vox library of audiobooks.  For Season 5 Keep and eye out for notifications on your chosen podcast app as I begin to read ‘The Arabian Nights’ by Muhsin Mahdi.  This wonderful collection of stories within stories as part of an overarching plot is a new departure for me and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am going to enjoy narrating.

I’m wondering if you ever made a recording of “The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes”? I cannot seem to find it on Librivox.

    1. David says:

I have not. When I did these recordings the Case Book was still in copyright, but when I get out of the busy season I am in, I will endeavor to finish the series.

Thomas Copeland does a fine job with The Case-Book of Sherlock homes on Librivox. He used a hyphen in the title which made it hard to find.

  2. Before the pandemic, I worked for 25-plus years in Mexico City as a reading promoter and enjoyed quite a lot of success reading books out loud to audiences of all sizes. I also imparted several workshops teaching people how to read out loud. I am currently doing a life reset and dedicating the rest of my life to writing fiction and being a content creator (I recently launched a website called fictionignition.com.) Currently, I’m writing a novel that follows a revenge plot, so I have been studying several classic and modern revenge tales. This led me to download the LibriVox version of The Count of Monte Cristo, and I was floored by the quality of the reading. I literally had to stop everything and find out who this David Clarke was. This led me here. I congratulate you effusively. You are giving a world-class performance as good as, or better than, anyone else I’ve ever heard before. Thanks for sharing your talents so generously.

Thanks for the encouragement, I have had so many messages from people all over the world, it has made the time it took to do it worthwhile! Best of luck with the writing, I’ll check out your website.

I am listening to Sherlock Holmes books narrated by you on Spotify. May I ask do you wish to plan to teach adults or kids on how to read with such clarity and adding so much drama into it. If yes I would be happy to enrol myself and my son 🙂 . We are not native english speackers but do appreciate the beauty of language and joy it brings.
