Fiction and Audiobooks

I have now returned from our trip to Europe and have settled on a new and what I believe will be an exciting addition to my Opera Vox library of audiobooks.  For Season 5 Keep and eye out for notifications on your chosen podcast app as I begin to read ‘The Arabian Nights’ by Muhsin Mahdi.  This wonderful collection of stories within stories as part of an overarching plot is a new departure for me and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am going to enjoy narrating.

    Hello,
I’m wondering if your narration skills are for hire. I have recently published a sci-fi book and would like to make it available as an audio book.
    Thank you,
    Madisen Papineau

    Dear David,

I came across your blog after listening to all your LibriVox recordings. The site is a wonderful idea in itself – but rarely does one find such absolute marvels as your recordings there (or, for that matter, anywhere else). I don’t live in England with my family at the moment and use your recordings not only for my own entertainment but also my children’s education as I have yet to find a more precise or better enunciated version of Doyle’s narrations. Love your blog, adore your LibriVox endeavours – I do hope that whatever is up there will note down a karma point for each avid listener whose day(s) or goodnight stories you have made.

Glad you enjoyed the recordings – perhaps you have also found my Count of Monte Cristo which has been downloaded over 1 million times – I have had so many emails and comments thanking me for the contribution I have made, and that all makes it worthwhile. Once I have finished my Masters degree, I will be looking to engage a lot more possibly through substack and podcasting but that will be next year’s project.

Just finished Count of Monte Cristo and loved it too. Thank you for recording and narrating 117 chapters of this amazing book.
